Whether you need a writer to bring a story to life, an editor to polish those words until they shine, or a critic to reflect on how something went, I would love to work with you.
I am always keen to work on new projects, so please do get in touch. My email is rebeccafrankswriter@gmail.com
Writing
As a writer with over 15 years of experience working for national magazines, newspapers and websites, I’m used to writing concise, lively and accurate copy to tight deadlines. I’ve written everything from 30-word soundbite reviews to 3,000-word profiles.
Editing
I work on all aspects of the editorial process, from idea generation to commissioning, fact-checking to headline-writing. Over the years I’ve worked with writers from a variety of backgrounds, including well-known broadcasters, university academics and early-career journalists, commissioning pieces on historical and up-to-the-minute subjects. Recent clients include BBC History Magazine, BBC History Revealed, Classical Music and Music Teacher.
Other
For over ten years, I was part of the presenting team on the BBC Music Magazine podcast. In 2021, I designed and taught a music journalism module for third-year undergraduates at Oxford Brookes University.
I enjoy both podcasting and teaching and I am open to discussions about future projects.
